Thank you for visiting the Chris Yeates Spinal Cord Injury Trust Website. This Trust was set up to offer advice and support to people that have suffered a spinal cord injury as well as their families and partners.
Chris Yeates (Pictured Right with his Fiancée Toni) is the inspiration behind the Trust, he was injured in a road traffic accident in February 2006 and spent over a year in Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Chris was just 21 years old when he had his accident and was looking forward to getting his first house with his girlfriend, but found his life was turned completely upside down by this tragic accident. However Chris’ determination to get fitter, more independent and walk again has been so inspirational to his friends and family, that through this trust we hope we can offer the same support and advice to others as we understand that spinal cord injury is life changing.
All of this information is from our point of view, everyone deals with Spinal Cord injury differently and we hope that you can take something positive away from this website, all the treatments featured in this website that Chris has seen some improvement from, may not have the same results for others, therefore we are not recommending these treatments, just showing you what is out there, what we have tried and what has benefitted Chris.
"We would love to hear from you!"
Please take time to look around the site, Chris currently does a number of treatments to help him improve his independence and fitness, some which have seen some benefit, others that have not, we have put all of these treatments and their benefits in our Treatments section, if you have a spinal cord injury and have tried these or other treatments we would love to hear from you and possibly publish the results on our website please contact us via the Contact CY-SCI page.
On the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) page we have information on areas of Spinal Cord injury that we have found useful, but if you want to talk to someone that is in your situation, or ask any question, whether you are the one with the spinal cord injury or are a family member or partner then please contact us we would be happy to help.
If you would like to attend an upcoming event or would like to fundraise for the Chris Yeates SCI Trust please visit the Fundraising Events page.
